About the AACUSS Learning Exchange

Connecting Atlantic student‑services professionals with the people and knowledge they need to grow.

The AACUSS Learning Exchange is a grassroots initiative designed to support knowledge-sharing and professional growth across our community. Rooted in the AACUSS mission to foster excellence in student affairs and services across Atlantic Canada, the exchange provides a platform for members to both seek out and offer professional development experiences that are collaborative, responsive, and inclusive. Whether you’re looking to build new skills, explore emerging practices, or share your expertise, this exchange helps connect members who want to learn with those eager to lead.

The Learning Exchange offers AACUSS members professional development through flexible, peer-to-peer opportunities. By participating, you can connect with colleagues across the region to learn new skills and, when you're ready, share your own. It’s a reciprocal model where you and your team gain access to valuable PD, while also contributing in ways that fit your time, expertise, and interests.

In addition to individual connections, AACUSS will host monthly Lunch and Learn sessions, open, informal learning opportunities led by community members or guest speakers. These sessions are designed to spotlight current trends, foster dialogue, and create space for shared reflection across the region.

To support a variety of needs and contributions, we offer two pathways for participation:

Presenter Hub Submission – This form is for members willing to present, coach, mentor, or share resources with others.

Professional Development Seeker – This form is for members interested in learning, connecting, and exploring specific topics.

Not ready to present, but have something valuable to share?
If you’ve started a program, launched a campus initiative, or have resources you think could benefit others, there’s room for that too. You can also use the Presenter Hub to request a connection with someone who has expertise in an area you’re exploring. Simply select “Resource Sharing” as an option when completing the Hub request form.

The AACUSS Professional Development Committee will regularly review submissions and help match individuals for impactful, flexible learning experiences.

Whether you're new to student affairs or a seasoned leader, the Learning Exchange helps build meaningful connections and advances the quality of student services in our region.

If you have any comments or suggestions on how we can improve this initiative, or something you would like to see, please get in touch with communications@aacuss.ca
